2022 Hyundai Tucson for Sale in Miami, FL
As we reported last December, the new 2022 Hyundai Tucson has been almost entirely redesigned for this year. While there are still a number of 2021 Tucson SUVs for sale at dealerships, most have sold out to make room for the larger 2022 model.

Let’s see what the biggest changes are between the 2021 and 2022 Tucson

2022 Hyundai Tucson Trunk Space
For the most part, the new Hyundai Tucson is a larger SUV than the previous model. It’s added nearly 8 cubic feet of storage space in the back, over 18 cubic feet of cargo volume to the front row, and 6 more cubic feet of room for passengers. Comfort level has also largely improved, with the 2022 Tucson offering more headroom, shoulder room, and rear legroom than the outgoing 2021 SUV.

You’d think that a beefier 2.5L 4-cylinder engine (187 horsepower) would chug unleaded at a quicker clip than an older 161-hp 2.0-liter. Well, you’d be wrong. That’s what makes the 2022 Hyundai Tucson one of the most surprisingly fuel-efficient SUVs of the year. Not only is it more powerful, but it’s also much better on gas, returning up to 6 mpg more than the 2021 Tucson on highways.

Best of all, you can drive even greener by purchasing or leasing a 2022 Tucson Hybrid Blue. Up to 30% more fuel efficient than the standard gasoline Tucson, the Hyundai hybrid SUV gets a flat 38 miles per gallon. If you’re looking for the best SUV on gas, a Tucson Hybrid should be at the top of your must-see list.

2021 vs. 2022 Tucson: Safety

Passenger safety is always important to Hyundai. Case in point: 2022 Tucson’s enormous list of newly added Hyundai Smart Sense safety and driver-assist features. (Seriously, the 2022 Hyundai Tucson brings a lot more to the table than ever before.)

The most notable additions to the 2022 Hyundai Tucson lineup are the Rear Occupant Alert systems, Safe Exit Warning, Remote Smart Park Assist, and the Navigation-Based Smart Cruise Control with Curve Control.

2021 vs. 2022 Tucson: Technology

Hyundai Digital Key
Tucson comes with a number of segment-first features that put it ahead of the pack.

In addition to Remote Smart Park Assist (above), the 2022 model also features Remote Start with Heated and Ventilated Seats, a feature that utilizes mobile data via Blue Link to pre-warm and pre-cool the interior and front seats.

Hyundai’s segment-exclusive Digital Key is a game changer. Instead of using a key fob, you can lock, unlock, activate the panic alert, and start the engine with your Android smartphone or device. The Digital Key can be shared between family, friends, and even temporarily for guests and valets.

Wireless Android Auto and Wireless Apple CarPlay are also now included with the Hyundai Tucson. Pair your devices wirelessly to the 8-inch touchscreen and infotainment center, then just leave your phone in your pocket.
